BetterBedderBureau |Findings |

Winkbeds offers very high quality innerspring/hybrid mattresses at a variety of firmness levels and a special model for heavier sleepers.

Our testing of the Winkbeds mattresses along with our data collection and analysis found that the beds do very well for all sleeper weights especially if a more traditional, luxury innerspring feel is appreciated.

Three standard firmness options are available for the WinkBed: Soft, which corresponds to a Medium Soft (or 4.5) on our 1-10 BBB firmness scale; Luxury Firm, which corresponds to Medium Firm (6.5); and Firm, which corresponds to Firm (7.5). Additionally, the Plus firmness option is specifically designed for sleepers who weigh more than 300 pounds. The Plus corresponds to a Medium Firm (6.5) on our scale.

Winkbeds are very well constructed and are a great deal compared to similarly built mattresses. Comparable brands and models include Dreamcloud, Saatva, Brooklyn Bedding Aurora, and Nest Alexander Hybrid.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Winkbeds Mattress?

Based on our customer feedback, the Winkbeds Mattress received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions.

As you can see, Winkbeds mattresses perform very well across all sleeper weights. If you prefer the feel of sleeping “on” versus “in” a mattress, it’s hard to find a better option for a sleeper at this price range.

Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

For more information on sleeping positions please see our guides for side, back, stomach and combination sleepers.

Our testing process found Winkbeds mattresses should also be great for you if…

  • Prefer a feel closer to a traditional innerspring mattress
  • Want strong edge support – the Winkbed is one of the strongest performers in this category that we’ve tested
  • Want a luxury feel at a very reasonable price point

Durability 4 – The lifespan of the WinkBed appears to be above average in terms of components used and construction so both models should last longer than most mattresses in the innerspring/hybrid category
Motion Isolation 3 – Multiple foam layers allow the WinkBed to isolate motion transfer to a greater extent than other innersprings, according to owners.
Off-gassing 5 – Our testing and data analysis shows that buyers shouldn’t expect any odors to accompany their winkbeds mattress
Conforming 3 – WinkBeds mattresses are mixed in terms of conforming; the softer models conform closely while firmer options do not conform as much.
Sex 4 – The WinkBed is fairly responsive, and multiple firmness options allow couples to select a sleep surface that works best for them.
Temperature Neutrality 4 – The Winkbeds mattress is similar to other innerspring models and shouldn’t trap heat compared to memory foam and other all-foam construction
Edge Support 4 – The WinkBed provides strong edge support, and owners report minimal sinkage in places where they sit to get off of and onto the mattress.
Noise 3 – The WinkBed shouldn’t produce much noise but has more potential over time than all-foam mattresses.
